Joyce (Kesler) Merritt

Joyce Marlene (Kesler) Merritt, 75, of Bartlesville, Okla., died Aug. 10, 2021, at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville of complications from COVID-19.

Joyce was born in Myrtle Creek, Ore., Dec. 19, 1945, to Quentin C. Kesler and Mary Isabelle (Hummel) Kesler. She grew up mostly in Kansas and in Bartlesville. She was employed in the business office at the Jane Phillips Medical Center for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2013.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, where she had been active as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters: Dava L. Dye of Bartlesville, Deeya Adam of Grove, Okla., and Dawn Carley and husband Jesse of Katy, Tex.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and one brother, Ron Kesler.

Joyce was cremated, and there were no formal services. Arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
