Max Steven Osburn

July 20, 1946 – Dec. 7, 2022

Max Steven Osburn, of Henderson, Nev., died Dec. 7, 2022, from Agent Orange exposure and Alzheimer’s disease. We are unaware of any formal obituary about him being published.

In Vietnam, Steve (who began going by the name Max) served as an MP, and after returning to the U.S. fell in love in Seattle with Micky, who died of cancer a few years ago.

After 20+ years with the King County Sheriff’s Department, including coordinating security services (national and international) for the Goodwill Games, he retired. He and Micky, along with their two daughters, moved to Neodesha and he worked in the Human Resources Department of Cobalt Boats for a short while. Their next move was to Henderson, Nev., near Las Vegas. Micky died July 7, 2018.

His parents, Orlie and Marjorie Osburn, transferred from Neodesha to Texas when the Standard Oil refinery closed, and they are interred in the Neodesha Cemetery. Max was a grandson of Barney and Bertha Osburn, and was one of many Osburn cousins who participated in the Little League program that Grandad Barney established.
